The Appraisal Foundation (TAF) President Kelly Davids updated appraisers with highlights from TAF’s December newsletter.
At the time of the letter, Davids was in Hong Kong representing TAF at a meeting of the International Valuation Standards Council. Earlier, the TAF team also hosted two council meetings for TAF Advisory Council and Council to Advance Residential Equity in Washington, D.C.
“I think this busy week for the Foundation team perfectly encapsulates 2024,” Davis wrote in the newsletter. “At times it has felt like a whirlwind with everything we have had in the works from the new edition of USPAP becoming effective to the AQB’s (Appraiser Qualifications Board) comprehensive examination of the college degree requirements to our new interactive meeting formats. It has been an incredibly busy time.
“And from all of that, we have seen so many incredible things result,” she added. “The foundation has staked out a place on the leading edge of the appraisal profession, examining pressing issues like artificial intelligence and upzoning, while always placing public trust at the forefront.”
The TAF president pointed out that none of the mentioned accomplishments would be possible without TAF’s amazing board, panel, and council members, partners, staff and stakeholders.
Davids went on to say that it may seem like a quiet time at TAF as the organization turns the page over to 2025, but she reminded readers to not let the lack of public events in December and January “fool you.”
TAF is hard at work planning for another impactful year.
“And on that note, I want to hear from you,” Davids said. “What do you think the foundation can be doing to carry out our mission of public trust and excellence in the appraisal profession? How can we better serve all stakeholders? Send me a note and let me know.
“Finally, I would be remiss if I did not wish you all a very warm and happy holiday season and an early happy new year,” the TAF president concluded. “We can’t wait to see what 2025 holds. See you all in the new year.”
