The Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) has released a concept paper assessing the college degree requirement in the Real Property Appraiser Qualification Criteria along with reference material which informed the initial paper, The Appraisal Foundation said in a release.
This is the first step in the AQB’s comprehensive study of all aspects of the qualification criteria.
Now, they are seeking public input on the concept paper. Public comments are critical to the development of new editions of the Criteria, and the Appraiser Qualifications Board values all input it receives.
“We invite all stakeholders to participate in a crucial discussion regarding a matter of significant importance in our field: determining the correct amount of education needed for individuals to quality for trainee, license, or certification credentials as a real property appraiser,” AQB Chair Brad Swinney said in a released statement. “As one of the stewards of the appraisal profession qualifications, we are examining the requirements in the Real Property Appraiser Qualifications Criteria. And in doing so, this endeavor demands our commitment to understanding important issues to be able to reach resolute solutions.
“Your participation at this early stage is essential, and we express our gratitude for any feedback you choose to provide to us in this pursuit,” Swinney added.
The AQB is now accepting all public comments until July 27th. To submit a comment, click here, and the AQB will review your feedback. For questions, contact the AQB at [email protected].
