On Dec. 20, Appraisal Subcommittee (ASC) Executive Director James Park wrote on his LinkedIn page that he was leaving the ASC. After almost 16 years of service, Park’s departure will be effective Jan. 1.
Park noted in his post it has been an honor and a privilege to serve in this role since March 2009.
“I find myself reflecting on a truly remarkable journey. My tenure has been marked by challenges, triumphs, and, above all, a deep appreciation for the appraisal profession and the dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to uphold its standards,” Park wrote. “From the beginning of my career, I was drawn to the critical role that appraisers play in maintaining the integrity of our financial system. Appraisal professionals bring a unique combination of analytical precision, ethical commitment, and local expertise to their work, ensuring that property valuations remain accurate and reliable.”
Additionally, Park mentioned he has been incredibly fortunate to work alongside a talented and dedicated team. The ASC staff embodies professionalism, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to the agency mission.
Park also stated the ASC has tackled complex issues, navigated regulatory and political challenges, and adapted to the evolving needs of the appraisal community and the stakeholders it serves.
“As I prepare to close this chapter, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude. The last 16 years have taught me the value of collaboration, the importance of adaptability, and the enduring strength of a shared mission,” Park added in his social media post. “While leaving the ASC is bittersweet, I am excited to continue contributing to the appraisal profession in new ways and look forward to remaining engaged with the community I hold so dear. Here’s to the journey ahead.”
