Lorrie Beaumont, owner of Westwood, Mass.-based LB Appraisal Associates, Inc., began her one-year term as international president for the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) effective July 1, 2020, according to a release from the ASA.
In preparation for her service, she and ASA CEO Johnnie White participated in the recent ASAE CEO Symposium in Orlando, Fla., which included a two-day executive training event hosted by ASA executives providing advanced insight into defining annual priorities and determining how to work better together.
The challenges facing contemporary association leaders and highlighted the value of informed policy and strategy as primary tools of the leadership team were also highlighted during the symposium.
Beaumont has been appraising since 1980 and established her practice in 1988. She has served on the executive board of the Massachusetts Board of Real Estate Appraisers (MBREA), culminating her term as president of the association in 2006, while completing her four-year term as chairwoman of MBREA’s Education Committee in 2015.
Beaumont also has been an active member of ASA for more than 30 years, most notably serving as Boston Chapter president from 2001-2002, Real Property Discipline Governor for ASA’s board of governors from 2011 to 2015 and international secretary/treasurer and vice president for ASA.
