The National Settlement Services Summit (NS3) comes home to the Midwest for the 14th year of the annual conference that brings all parties of the real estate transaction together in one place. The conference is slated for June 6-8 in Detroit at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center.
One thing that remains the same, though, is the ability for attendees to learn from top executives and companies representing the industry, with panels scheduled featuring leading underwriters, lenders and regulators.
For the fourth year in a row, October Research LLC brings representatives from top underwriters to share a stage and discuss issues which affect you and your business.
For the first time, the panel will include Stewart CEO Matt Morris, who has been at the helm of the company his family founded since 2011. Joining Morris on stage is another first-time speaker in Fidelity National Title Group President National Agency Operations Steven Day. Day recently was promoted to the position and now oversees Fidelity’s network of more than 5,000 agents across the country.
Two familiar faces join the newcomers, with WFG National Title Insurance Co. Chairman and CEO Patrick Stone and Evan Zanic, executive vice president, division president, agency division at First American Title Insurance Co. rounding out the underwriter panel.
Lenders again will be center stage at NS3, as they are at the center of the real estate transaction since the introduction of the new mortgage forms began in 2015. Since TRID, closings have become more collaborative across all the partners in the transaction, but there are still challenges. Three national lenders will discuss remaining solutions for a smoother closing. All three are appearing on stage for the first time at NS3.
Tom Mace, senior manager closing and funding operations at Michigan’s own Flagstar Bank, will be joined by Bank of America Fulfillment Enablement, Senior Vice President Program
Manager Daniel Coles and Wells Fargo Vice President Sally Freudenberg.
Attendees also will hear directly from regulators, and two state regulators who manned last year’s popular state regulator panel return to the stage this year. John Lartz, deputy director, division of financial institutions for the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation will be joined by Chuck Myers, supervisor RESA investigations unit at the Virginia State Corporation Commission, Bureau of Insurance.
The regulators will discuss recent trends in legislations and regulations, along with eNotarization, cybersecurity, Blockchain, RESPA and much more. Last year’s state regulator panel was the first time in seven years that NS3 brought state regulators to the stage.
