Metro-West Appraisal Co. LLC, a national independent staff appraisal firm, announced the move of its headquarters into downtown Detroit’s Central Business District.
Metro-West will occupy 8,000 square feet in the Chrysler House (the former Dime Building), a 23-story office tower owned by Rock Ventures. Founded in 1987, Metro-West is the largest staff appraisal firm in the nation that is not affiliated with an AMC or a lender.
The firm moved a team of 40 staff members from its current location in Northville to the new headquarters in early August. Additionally, Metro-West has plans to hire another 35 Detroit-based employees following the move.
“We’re thrilled to move to downtown Detroit and take part in the city’s commercial rebirth,” said Brandon Boudreau, chief operating officer of Metro-West Appraisal. “This will be a great boost for the morale of our entire staff, and we look forward to exploring everything that the city has to offer for the growing number of people working there.”
The company also announced the opening of its new Nashville, Tenn., branch. Along with three other corresponding expansions, the move increases the number of staff appraisers for Metro-West to more than 175 in over 50 major metropolitan U.S. markets.
“Recent reports from research firms, such as CoreLogic, have shown that home prices in the Nashville area increased by 8.0 percent in May 2013 compared to May 2012,” Boudreau said. “We’re thrilled to have to opportunity to expand into Nashville, which has excelled in recent years as one of the fastest growing cities in the nation in terms of both population and job creation.”
Metro-West officials will continue to evaluate other U.S. metro areas to expand its national footprint in 2013 and beyond.
