The Appraisal Foundation welcomed new members to the Board of Trustees and the Appraisal Practices Board.
The work of The Appraisal Foundation’s independent boards ensures that the valuation profession adapts to changing circumstances and continues to move forward. Members of the Board of Trustees are responsible for governing the Foundation, while the Appraisal Practices Board offers voluntary guidance on recognized valuation methods and techniques to address timely valuation questions.
The following board appointments were made in June at the Foundation’s Board of Trustees Meeting. All will serve three-year terms. New members of the Appraisal Practices Board began serving their terms July 1 and new members of the Board of Trustees will begin serving their terms Jan. 1, 2016.
The new members of the Board of Trustees are:
- Gilbert Santana of Bayamon, Puerto Rico (GSM Appraisals)
- Emerson Sutton, Jr. of St. Louis (Sutton Realty Company)
- Karen Wiener of Boston (Citizens’ Housing and Planning Association)
The Appraisal Foundation also is pleased to announce that Drew Dorweiler, managing partner of Dartmouth Partners Ltd. in Montreal, will serve a second term on the Board of Trustees effective Jan. 1, 2016.
The new members of the Appraisal Practices Board are:
- Donna VanderVries of Portage, Mich. (Muskegon County, Muskegon, Mich.)
- Lisa Desmarais of Broomfield, Colo. (Peak to Peak Appraising, LLC.)
“We are delighted to welcome these accomplished professionals, each of whom brings a wealth of experience and expertise,” Appraisal Foundation President David S. Bunton said. “Their leadership will help to propel both the Foundation and the profession forward in a positive direction.”
The Appraisal Foundation also announced that Rick Baumgardner of Baumgardner and Associates, in Elizabethtown, Ky., was appointed as chairman of the APB and will serve through June 30, 2016. Shawn Wilson of Compass Real Estate Consulting in Lakeland, Fla., was appointed as vice chairman and also will serve through June 30, 2016.
