Dear Readers,
It doesn’t matter what professional field one is in, or the particular career path that one chooses – everyone in every job is constantly looking to build bigger and better practices. But how individuals go about that usually separates the successes from the failures.
And although demonstrating the ability to go “above and beyond” never hurts, simply taking care of the basics and addressing the overall needs of the business will keep many companies, or individual appraisers, thriving.
In our in-depth report “Expanding Your Appraisal Business,” we looked into the many ways an appraiser can achieve such an expansion that will create more business, which in turn creates the opportunity to earn more revenue.
From having a firm grasp on social media platforms and getting your business “out there,” to taking the personal approach by physically traveling to organizational meetings or conferences, we sought out the opinions and expertise from top appraisers, organization executives and valuation business owners to share with you.
Aloft Appraisals Chief Appraiser Hansel Dobbs emphasized that appraisers need to “get out and network.”
“Real estate agents, estate attorneys, lenders, and financial planners all need valuation expertise. Building relationships with these professionals creates a steady stream of referral business,” Dobbs told us. “Success doesn’t happen overnight. Like any business, growth takes time and consistency.”
And while it does take commitment and perseverance to achieve business expansion, one other source we spoke to for this report indicated things don’t have to be too difficult.
“The appraisal business doesn’t have to be a grind,” Dustin Harris, “The Appraiser Coach,” said. “The appraisers I see thriving are the ones who market themselves well, specialize in areas that pay off, and build relationships with clients who value their expertise.”
We hope this in-depth report provides the tips, tools and incentives for appraisers to grow their business.
