During a period of two months, Quandis made its Military Search service free to any organization that has not previously used the solution, the company announced in a release
The service, which provides compliance with the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) and the Military Lending Act (MLA), is an effort to help creditors ensure their loss mitigation efforts are cognizant of our U.S. active duty servicemembers.
Quandis Military Search (QMS) is a robust data service that provides comprehensive, highly accurate and granular verifications to identify active duty military status for individuals with the Department of Defense (DoD), the company said.
It automatically searches the DoD’s database using all possible name variations and aliases, which reduces the risk of missing a borrower that has active duty status. Quandis provides an official military status report and certificate from the DoD on searches run through its automated system.
“The problem is that many organizations are still trying to identify military status by using a precarious manual process, whereby they have an actual person visit the DoD’s website and perform individual searches, which is prone to human errors and missed names,” the company said.
What’s more, some companies are so busy dealing with the sudden onslaught of COVID-19 that they aren’t able to devote the time and attention needed to validate military status with the DoD, the release stated.
“As the country navigates through these uncharted times, we should not lose sight of supporting our active military friends and partners,” Quandis President John Beggins said in the release. “There are a lot of moving parts right now and as a company, Quandis wants to help organizations accurately and efficiently identify active military personnel to alleviate the risk of starting default proceedings. Offering QMS for free to entities that haven’t used us is simply our way of giving back over the next couple of months.”
For years, the company stated, QMS has been successfully utilized by entities to monitor and identify thousands of loans taken out by U.S. servicemembers, many of which have active duty status and are thus protected by the SCRA and MLA.
QMS automates bulk as well as individual searches and can be used as a standalone solution or as integrated with servicing platforms, attorney case management systems, and other third-party applications.
