The Appraisal Institute announced July 9 the recognition of two individuals as a “Volunteer of Distinction” for July.
The Appraisal Institute’s recognition program honors volunteers for their service to the Appraisal Institute, to the real estate valuation profession and to their local communities.
The individuals honored are Roland Hall, SRA, of the Appraisal Institute’s Louisiana Chapter and Jack Poe, MAI, of the North Texas Chapter.
Hall currently serves as the treasurer of the Louisiana Chapter and will be the organization’s vice president in 2015. He previously served as the chapter’s past regional representative and residential guidance advisor for candidacy. Hall has mentored many trainees over the years and continues to be an advisor in his area and for the chapter. Hall joined the Appraisal Institute in 1980 and received his SRA designation in 1990.
Poe currently serves the Appraisal Institute as chair of the national Experience Panel. From 2008-09 he served on the Appraisal Standards Committee, and from 2010-11 he served on the committee as a member at large. He was chair of the Communications Committee and the Public Affairs Committee in 2004 and a member of the Communications Committee in 2003.
Currently, Poe serves as regional representative for the North Texas Chapter and will continue in that role through 2015. He also served as a regional representative in 2008 and 2010; as the chapter’s public relations chair in 2007; president in 2002; vice president in 2001; regional representative in 2001; secretary, regional representative and admissions chair in 2000; treasurer and finance chair in 1999; admissions chair in 1998; regional representative and admissions chair in 1997; and as a regional representative in 1996. Poe joined the Appraisal Institute in 1990 and received his MAI in 1988.
Appraisal Institute Designated members, Candidates for Designation, Practicing Affiliates and Affiliates may nominate individuals as a “Volunteer of Distinction” by submitting the nomination form to their chapter’s executive director or president. Each region’s honorees then are chosen by their regional executive director, in conjunction with the region’s chair and vice chair.
