Valuation Research Corporation (VRC), a full-service, independent, global valuation firm focusing exclusively on valuations that offer judgment beyond modeling, has named Justin Johnson co-CEO, effective today. Johnson had been managing partner of VRC’s San Francisco office and will work in his new role side-by-side with co-CEO P.J. Patel to sustain alignment of VRC’s culture, colleagues and client-centric approach across nine U.S. offices and 11 international affiliates, according to a company release.
Johnson will continue to operate in the San Francisco office, overseeing VRC’s West Coast and Central regions. Patel will remain in Princeton, N.J., managing the East Coast region.
“I’m eager to collaborate with P.J. as we build on the collective strengths of everyone at VRC,” Johnson said in the release. “Since my first day, VRC has given me opportunities to grow, and I’m thankful for this new challenge to better serve my colleagues and clients.”
Johnson started VRC’s San Francisco office and built it into one of the company’s leading practices with an emphasis on private equity clients and private equity portfolio companies. With more than 20 years of experience, Johnson focuses on solvency opinions, fairness opinions and capital surplus opinions as well as conducting valuations for investment, financial reporting and tax purposes.
“Our unique co-CEO structure allows us to focus on the health and development of VRC while continuing to support clients and be involved in day-to-day technical work,” Patel said. “Justin is an admirable example of the kind of technical knowledge we’re known for in the industry. Growing our team from the inside-up is one of the reasons why we have long tenures and seasoned experts like Justin to help drive VRC while keeping long-standing relationships with our clients.”
