Hilco Diligence Services (HDS), a unit of Hilco Global Valuation Services, announced that Tom Scotti has joined the company in a newly created position as executive director with a mission to support the firm's continued expansion, while leading the diligence services and field examination practice, according to the press release.
"This is an important strategic hire for Hilco and will support the continued expansion of our diligence services business. We've had robust growth in client engagements since we launched in 2014," Hilco CEO Doug Jung said in the company’s release. "Tom Scotti brings considerable experience having worked across many of our important sectors including retail and consumer products. By adding top talent like Tom to our team, Hilco will continue to deliver upon client expectations in every complex transaction we are engaged to complete."
Scotti will be responsible for finding and executing on diligence assignments, bringing his considerable expertise in the retail and consumer product sectors, troubled credit work as well as his extensive experience in credit and lending, syndications, work out and liquidations along with comprehensive field/on-site diligence experience.
Hilco launched its full-service diligence services business practice in 2014 as an outgrowth of the overall valuation services business that it has built for the past 30 years. During the last three years, HDS has experienced robust growth and has built a strong reputation for delivering precise asset-based field examinations and deal specific diligence analysis for lenders, financial sponsors, investors, corporations, and work out and insolvency practitioners.
Scotti brings considerable expertise with over 20 years of experience advising retail and consumer product companies that have undergone significant transformations. Prior to joining Hilco Diligence Services, Scotti managed and developed extensive relationships with companies from around the world and advised businesses at every stage of their development including commercial lenders, private equity, venture capital and hedge funds, factors, distressed investors and liquidators. From 2003 to 2010, Scotti served as president of the Appraisal and Valuation division at Gordon Brothers.
