After a year of Zoom meetings and virtual trade shows/conferences because of COVID-19 precautions, it’s time for the Appraisal Institute’s (AI) Annual Conference to return to normal as attendees will gather at the JW Marriott Orlando Grande Lakes Hotel in Orlando, Fla., Aug. 9-10.
AI’s 2021 show “Rising to the Challenge” will draw appraisers from all over the country to hear experts in the field address many of the industry’s hot topics, while attendees will look forward to the many networking events to come together and discuss new ideas and ways to improve their businesses.
An opening night reception (Aug. 9) officially gets things started with appraisers and valuation professionals engaging in a relaxed, social atmosphere hoping to finally “meet and greet” the old-fashioned way, while gaining valuable tips they can bring back to their respective appraisal offices.
The keynote speaker this year will be Scott Halford, internationally renowned speaker and best-selling author. AI President Rodman Schley describes Halford as a “true student of neuroscience who weaves psychology, brain-based behavioral science, emotional intelligence, and critical thinking into actionable insights for career development and personal growth.”
We look forward to sitting in on live breakout sessions including “Things We Never Want to See in Appraisals Again-The View from Freddie Mac,” “Fractional Interest – Valuation 2.0” and “The Residential Appraiser of the Future-How to Prepare for the New UAD and Forms Redesign,” just to name a few.
It should be a fantastic return to normalcy for all those in attendance. If you cannot join us in Orlando, you can follow us on Twitter @ValuationReview. We will have live, daily updates from the sessions, the networking events, as well as our traditional sit-down interview with the AI president.
