Residential real estate appraisers need education, knowledge and experience to perform their valuation assignments competently, according to a book published by the Appraisal Institute (AI), which was reported on the AI website.
“Residential Property Appraisal,” by Mark R. Ratterman explores all aspects of home ownership, value and economics and details all the steps of the appraisal process.
The book discusses specialty residential property types and markets.
“This book will help appraisers who are new to the field, as well as more experienced residential appraisers looking for timely information on current residential concepts and issues,” AI President Jefferson L. Sherman wrote in the book’s foreword.
Each chapter in “Residential Property Appraisal” includes examples illustrating common scenarios encountered in appraisal practice and presents definitions of key terms to help the reader understand the important concepts presented.
The text is comprehensive and accessible, making it suitable for both classroom instruction and individual self-study, AI said.
The book is a 500-page soft cover and is available for $85 ($75 for AI professionals). A print/PDF bundle also is available.
