The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) will conduct free appraisal training sessions in Salt Lake City on June 5, West Fargo, N.D., on June 12, and Pittsburgh on June 18. This training is intended primarily for appraisers and underwriters; however, other industry professionals may also benefit from attending, the FHA announced.
The June 5 session (8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mountain Time) will be conducted at the Utah State Library for the Blind and Disabled, the June 12 session (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Central Time) will be held at West Fargo City Hall and the June 18 session will be conducted at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Moorhead Federal Building from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
These free full and half-day on-site training sessions will cover FHA appraisal requirements, including appraisal protocols and updates to appraisal policy as outlined in the Single Family Housing Policy Handbook 4000.1. Discussions include policy changes and clarifications, and updates on other topics including: property acceptability; underwriting the appraisal; minimum property requirements; property defects; enhanced appraiser and underwriter responsibilities and requirements, programs and products; and much more.
Advance registration is required by June 3 for the Utah session, June 4 for the North Dakota session, and June 11 for the Pittsburgh session. The seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Attendees must provide a valid, government-issued photo ID and course registration confirmation at the guard station, and state they are there for a FHA training session.
