Maricopa County Chief Deputy Assessor Timothy L. Boncoskey assumed the office of president of the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) on Jan. 1. As president, Boncoskey is chairman of the board of directors and presides at all meetings of the board and membership, the company announced in a release.
IAAO is the leading nonprofit, educational and research association for individuals in the assessment profession and others with an interest in property valuation and taxation.
Previously, Boncoskey served as president-elect in 2018, vice president in 2017, and on the board from 2013 to 2015. As a representative of IAAO, Boncoskey also serves on the board of directors of the National Association of Counties (NACo).
He has been a member of IAAO since 2006. IAAO recognized Boncoskey in 2012 as IAAO Member of the Year and in 2016 and in 2017 he received the IAAO Stacy Ford Award for being the association's most outstanding representative.
In 2016, 2017, and 2018 he was the IAAO Kenneth J. McCarren Award recipient for recruiting the largest number of new IAAO members, the organization’s release said.
He joined the Maricopa County Assessor's Office as chief deputy in July 2006 after 17 years with the state of Arizona. He also worked as a senior budget analyst for the Fairfax County Office of Management and Budget in Virginia before beginning his Arizona state government career.
