The American Society of Appraisers (ASA), the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA), and The Appraisal Foundation (Foundation) will hold a joint conference on the recently released sixth edition of the Uniform Appraisal Standards for Federal Land Acquisitions, commonly known as the Yellow Book, on June 20, in Denver, according to a release from The Appraisal Foundation.
Participants interested in working for the federal government or who are looking to learn more about the sixth edition of the Yellow Book will have the opportunity to learn and network with chief appraisers from several federal agencies. The conference will feature panels that cover the following topics:
- An overview of changes to the sixth edition of the Yellow Book;
- How to become a contract appraiser for the federal government;
- What chief appraisers look for in appraisal reports; and
- Litigation and common mistakes.
Additionally, participants will be able to take a comprehensive 23-hour Yellow Book course developed by the Foundation. The course will be co-offered by ASA and ASFMRA at the same location as the conference June 21-23, 2017.
