The Alliance for Valuation Education (Alliance), an organization created through the collaborative effort of 13 valuation organizations to be a developer of valuation educational materials, announced it has released its first seven-hour real property appraisal continuing education seminar entitled “Understanding and Using Comparable Transactions.”
The seminar now is available for education providers to purchase.
“Understanding and Using Comparable Transactions” is based on the Appraisal Practices Board’s “Valuation Advisory No. 4: Identifying Comparable Properties – Revised.”
“This seminar addresses an important topic in today’s real estate market — how to determine what is and is not a comparable. The seminar incorporates several case studies for the residential, commercial and agricultural appraiser,” Alliance Chairman Paul Bierschwale said.
The initial response from education providers who intend to offer the seminar has been remarkable, Bierschwale said, and the Alliance anticipates the seminar will be taught multiple times during the first quarter of 2015.
“We received incredibly positive feedback on the content and quality of the material from our Alliance sponsors at our seminar debut in Chicago last year,” Bierschwale said. “Developing this seminar was truly a collaborative effort, and we believe the marketplace will be pleased with the material.”
The material is available for purchase to Alliance sponsors for $10 per student and to non-sponsors for $20 per student.
