The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) will conduct free appraisal training sessions in Tampa, Fla., Seattle and Portland, Ore. They are primarily for appraisers, but the sessions can also benefit underwriters, processors and those professionals involved in FHA transactions as well, the FHA announced.
The Completing Today’s FHA Appraisal sessions will be held at the Henry M. Jackson Federal Building in Seattle on March 6 and the Gus J. Solomon U.S. Courthouse in Portland on March 8. Both sessions will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time.
These free, one-day instructor-led training courses will cover FHA appraisal requirements, including FHA appraisal protocol and updates to FHA appraisal policy. The courses are ideal for seasoned FHA appraisers, appraisers new to the FHA appraiser roster, as well as those working toward appraiser licensing.
These courses are approved by the states of California, Oregon, and Washington for seven hours of Continuing Education Units/Credits (CEUs) for licensed appraisers. Onsite registration is from 8-8:30 a.m. Pacific Time the day of the event.

The session titled FHA Appraiser Training will be offered March 14 at the Department of Public Housing and Asset Management facility in Tampa beginning at 8:30 a.m. and concluding at 4 p.m. Eastern time.
This free training covers FHA appraisal requirements, including FHA appraisal protocol and updates to FHA appraisal policy as outlined in FHA’s Single Family Housing Policy Handbook 4000. The training will also provide an in-depth look at a variety of appraisal-related topics including property acceptability criteria, minimum property requirements, property defects, appraiser responsibilities and requirements, and much more.
Advance registration is required by March 10. Seats are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
