A survey reported nearly 32 percent of people moved last year citing being closer to family as the main reason. The personal-finance website WalletHub recently released its report on 2022’s “Best and Worst Places to Raise a Family.”
To determine the most family-friendly places in America, WalletHub compared more than 180 cities across 46 key metrics. The data set ranges from housing affordability to school-system quality to the percentage of residents who are fully vaccinated.
The best cities for families to live in were Fremont, Calif., Overland Parks, Kan., Irvine, Calif., Plano, Texas, Columbia, Md., San Diego, Seattle, San Jose, Calif., Madison, Wis., and Scottsdale, Ariz.
The worst locations for families were Augusta, Ga., Jackson, Miss., Shreveport, La., Fayetteville, N.C., Newark, N.J., San Bernardino, Calif., Birmingham, Ala., Memphis, Tenn., Cleveland and Detroit
