The Foundation hosted roundtables in 2012 and 2013 to address the need for commonality among financial reporting valuation standards, practices, education/qualifications and oversight. Since that time, the group said in a news release, much has happened in the business valuation discipline of the appraisal profession. This roundtable will focus on the status of various initiatives that are currently in progress aimed at bringing greater consistency to valuation standards and practices for financial reporting.
The program, titled Valuations in Financial Reporting: Status Report and the Road Ahead, will begin at 10 a.m. with an update on The Appraisal Foundation Valuations in Financial Reporting working groups and other initiatives.
From 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. the roundtable event will take place, and from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. there will be a networking reception.
