The ASA recently announced that Chief Executive Officer and Executive Vice President Johnnie White will be leaving the organization. White will assume duties as the new CEO of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, ASA announced.
In a letter, ASA International President Garrett Schwartz, expressed both gratitude and sadness that after four and a half years of “dedicated service, White will be leaving ASA.
“This is an exciting opportunity for Johnnie that ASA could not match. He will continue to serve ASA until mid-February to facilitate a transition to our interim leadership team and allow us to begin our search for his replacement,” Schwartz said in the letter. “Johnnie’s tenure was marked by significant achievements, including restoring the ASA’s financial health and navigating the challenges posed by the pandemic. He helped our Board of Governors transition to a policy governance model, relocated ASA’s headquarters, strengthened our global relationships, and took an industry leadership position in addressing unconscious bias in real property appraisals.
“Under his direction, ASA transformed our educational platform into a virtual e-learning platform, launched a new website and a new association management system, and upgraded our financial management systems,” Schwartz added.
ASA has started the process of conducting a global search for a new CEO. Schwartz asked ASA International Vice President G. Adrian Gonzalez, Jr. to lead the CEO search committee with the assistance of the executive search firm Association Strategies.
Until a new CEO is hired, Schwartz said, ASA will be led by its senior management team of Chief Operating Officer Bonny (Price) Rogers, Chief Financial Officer Joe Noselli, and Chief Partnership Officer John Russell.
“We express our heartfelt thanks and sincere gratitude to Johnnie for his exceptional leadership and for the positive changes he has brought to ASA,” Schwartz said. “Under his guidance, we have witnessed consistent improvement and innovation. We are proud of what he has accomplished and wish him success in his new role and future endeavors.”
