The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) will conduct a free appraisal training session in New York on March 18. This training is intended for appraisers and underwriters; however, other industry professionals including mortgage loan professionals, loan officers, and property inspectors may also benefit from attending, the FHA announced.
The session (1:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Eastern Time) will be conducted in the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development’s New York Regional Office in the Jacob K. Javitz Federal Building’s Room 36-108 (36th floor.)
This half-day, on-site training will cover FHA appraisal requirements, including appraisal protocols and updates to appraisal policy as outlined in the Single Family Housing Policy Handbook 4000.1. Discussions include policy changes and clarifications, and updates on other topics including: property acceptability; underwriting the appraisal; minimum property requirements; property defects; enhanced appraiser and underwriter responsibilities and requirements, programs and products (e.g., 203(k)); and much more.
Advance registration is required no later than March 11. Seating is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registrants must include their complete email address.
