The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) will conduct a free appraisal training session in Chicago on Sept. 17. This training is targeted primarily to appraisers and underwriters; however, other industry professionals may also benefit from attending, the FHA announced.
The session, titled “FHA Appraisal and Underwriting the Appraisal Training,” will be conducted in the Ralph H. Metcalfe Federal Building from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT. Check-in begins 30 minutes before the start of the session.
This free, on-site training will cover various industry-related frequently asked questions (FAQs) related to FHA’s Single Family Housing Policy Handbook 4000.1. Discussion topics include policy changes and clarifications, and updates on topics such as: property acceptability criteria; underwriting the appraisal; minimum property requirements; property defects; enhanced appraisals and underwriter responsibilities and requirements; programs and products; and much more.
Advance registration is required by Sept. 13; seating is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Lunch is on your own.
This training is being held in a government building. Be advised that the on-site security screening is similar to airport security screening; allow extra time to go through the screening process. Attendees must provide a valid, government-issued photo ID and course registration confirmation at the guard station.
