The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) will conduct a free appraisal training session in New York on July 18. The session will be from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time in the Jacob K. Javitz Federal Building in Manhattan, with check-in beginning 30 minutes before the start of the session
This free, on-site training will provide an overview of the appraisal requirements outlined in FHA’s Single Family Housing Policy Handbook 4000.1. The training topics will include discussions on the FHA Appraiser Roster and the appraisal validity period, as well as requirements for property inspections, manufactured homes, water and septic systems, and attic and crawl space inspections.
This training is intended for appraisers, underwriters and lender management personnel with all levels of experience; however, other mortgage professionals may also benefit from attending. Registration is required; seats are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
To register, go to http://www.hud.gov/emarc/index.cfm?fuseaction=emar.registerEvent&eventld=3376&update=N
This training is being held in a government facility. The main entrance on Broadway Avenue is closed due to construction; therefore, visitors must enter on Duane Street where they will go through security similar to an airport screening. Attendees must provide a valid, government-issued photo I.D. and course registration confirmation at the guard station. Please allow extra time to go through the screening process.
