The Cowley County Appraiser’s Office personnel began its annual reinspection of properties in the county in the first week of June. Kansas counties are on a six-year cycle of reinspecting all parcels within the county. This work is required by state law.
Personnel will check the listings, measurements and characteristics of all buildings on each property. The listings of vacant land will also be checked, according to a report by the Arkansas City Traveler.
This work is in addition to other routine work such as the review of recent sale properties, parcels having new construction, torn down or destroyed buildings, and neighborhood reviews throughout the entire county.
