Hoping to keep the industry on a fast track to compliance and business building, the 12th annual National Settlement Services Summit (NS3) opens its doors at the Sheraton and Le Meredien hotels in Charlotte, N.C.
With more than 600 attendees representing 300 companies expected, BB&T Home Mortgage Executive Vice President, Retail Lending Manager, Abraham Cox will take the stage as the opening keynote address Tuesday. Cox is responsible for retail mortgage originations within BB&T’s distributed retail network, mortgage originations within the Consumer Direct channel, and retail operations. He will be discussing ways to capitalize on opportunities in the residential mortgage industry.
The annual October Research awards will be presented in a ceremony following Cox’s address, and breakout sessions follow into lunchtime, including panels on data pathways and delivery, TRID risks after closing, cybersecurity and business building.
WFG Chairman and CEO Patrick Stone takes the stage after lunch to discuss mortgage megatrends, followed by breakout sessions – including noted RESPA attorney Phillip Schulman – and the fifth annual Make a Child Smile charity presentation with WINDWARD Consulting | Software – ResWare and the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte.
Tuesday wraps up with a powerhouse underwriter panel feature top executives from the Big Four, and a networking reception at the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
Wednesday’s agenda begins with a lender panel discussion perspectives on issues affecting title and settlement agents and their relationships with lender partners, featuring representatives of Bank of America, Evolve Bank and Trust, Quicken Loans and Wells Fargo.
Breakout sessions follow, including an ethics discussion on UDAAP, reverse vendor oversight and legal malpractice, as well as escrow developments and MSAs.
Following lunch, a mid-cap underwriter panel takes the stage, featuring top executives from Agents National Title, Alliant National Title, CATIC and NATIC. A presentation from ALTA Director of Public Affairs Wayne Stanley on the group’s Homebuyer Outreach Program finishes the educational schedule.
