The Appraisal Foundation (TAF) is pleased to announce that Rick Baumgardner was selected as the recipient of the Chair’s Public Service Award, presented by the Board of Trustees’ immediate past chairperson, Elizabeth von Habsburg. The award was established in 2005 to recognize individuals who have worked with the Foundation for the benefit of the appraisal profession and who, in the process, have gone above and beyond the call of duty.
“There isn’t a more deserving candidate for this award than Rick Baumgardner, who has spent a total of 17 years on The Appraisal Foundation’s boards and has been an instrumental leader for this organization,” von Habsburg said in a press release announcing the award. “His ongoing dedication to the Foundation, and his contributions to the real estate profession overall, have been invaluable, and we thank him for his service.”
Baumgardner spent six years on the Board of Trustees; seven years on the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB), where he served as cchairman for two years; and four years on the Appraisal Practices Board (APB), where he has served as cchairman for the past three years.
In addition to his board service at The Appraisal Foundation, Rick is president of Baumgardner & Associates, PSC, a real estate economics company located in Elizabethtown, Ky. He has been a full-time real estate analyst since 1978, while serving as past cchapter president and rregional rrepresentative with the Appraisal Institute.
The award was presented at the Fall 2015 meeting of the Board of Trustees in Pasadena, Calif.
