The Five Star Institute, a publishing, communications, marketing and event planning company, announced the formation of the National Appraisal Congress (NAC) on Feb. 10. In response to a developing need for thoughtful leadership and the promotion of best practices and execution, the NAC will serve as a collection of experts to foster collaboration in the real estate appraisal industry.
In conjunction with the announcement, Jordan Petkovski was named the committee's chairman. Petkovski has worked in the residential appraisal industry in various senior positions for more than 15 years. He currently serves as the chief appraiser for TSI Appraisal, a division of Title Source, which facilitates over 550,000 appraisals annually, making it one of the country's largest appraisal management companies (AMCs). Petkovski is a nationally recognized author and expert with respect to residential appraisal practices.
"I couldn't be happier with the opportunity to serve," Petkovski said. "Property appraisals are an important part of market valuations, and I'm looking forward to leading the NAC at a time in our industry where our profession is at the epicenter of stability and progress for housing and communities."
Ed Delgado, president and chief executive officer of The Five Star Institute, believes the NAC can prove to be an invaluable resource for the mortgage community.
"Valuation providers are a point of focus for the industry, and the formation of the NAC is an important step forward for the appraisal community," Delgado said.
