Appraisal Scope, a provider of appraisal tracking and management software for lenders and AMCs, and Platinum Data Solutions, the company that pioneered appraisal data verification technology, announced that they have integrated their flagship technologies.
This integration enables users of Appraisal Scope’s namesake appraisal management software to access RealView, Platinum Data’s appraisal quality technology, directly from their Appraisal Scope software systems.
RealView, which was launched in 2010, pioneered the use of business intelligence to analyze and validate appraisal data. It is the first and only technology that evaluates appraisal data in context with neighborhood information gathered from public and private sources.
“This integration is all about making quality ubiquitous among Appraisal Scope users,” Appraisal Scope Vice President Rich Sargo said. “Appraisal quality and compliance are two of the mortgage industry’s biggest issues. Our focus is on making quality and compliance a given for every appraisal run through the Appraisal Scope system. Our integration with RealView is an integral part of that effort.”
Over the past several years, the mortgage industry has become increasingly focused on appraisal quality and compliance with initiatives such as the Home Valuation Code of Conduct (HVCC) and revised Interagency Appraisal and Evaluation Guidelines, which were followed by new appraisal regulations imposed by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The industry’s most recent appraisal quality initiative is Collateral Underwriter (CU), the technology Fannie Mae will be using as of January 2015 to identify appraisals with higher risk.
“A lot of lenders and AMCs are concerned about how CU is going to affect their efficiency and bottom lines,” Platinum Data Solutions CEO Phil Huff said. “This integration provides Appraisal Scope users with the best tool for passing CU’s inspection on the first try. RealView was made specifically for lenders and AMCs. That’s why RealView saves time where CU can cause delays. Appraisal QC technology is more important than ever, not just for lenders, but also AMCs. AMCs shouldn’t QC their own work any more than software developers should QC their own code. We’re pleased to provide Appraisal Scope’s customers with the fastest, most efficient way to achieve appraisal quality and compliance.”
“We anticipate a significant number of our customers to use RealView on every appraisal they transact,” Sargo said. “Quality isn’t just a differentiator for our customers. It’s a differentiator for Appraisal Scope as well.”
