Interthinx announces new director of industry relations

Interthinx announced that Shareé Taylor, most recently director of public policy for the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), has joined the company as Interthinx director of industry relations. Taylor will be stationed in Washington, D.C., as part of industry expert Ann Fulmer’s team and will focus on expanding relationships with leaders in the real estate finance industry, lawmakers on Capitol Hill and various federal agencies.

Regional Review: Bay Area home sales up sharply, median price rises to $400,000

Bay Area home sales held at a six-year high last month as activity rose across the price spectrum, with the $500,000-plus market logging the biggest gains from last year. The trend toward more mid- to high-end deals, coupled with fewer foreclosures re-selling, helped the median sale price rise year-over-year for the second consecutive month, to a 22-month high, a real estate information service reported.

CoreLogic reports shadow inventory fell in April 2012 to October 2008 levels

CoreLogic, a provider of information, analytics and business services, reported that the current residential shadow inventory as of April 2012 fell to 1.5 million units, representing a supply of four months. This was a 14.8 percent drop from April 2011, when shadow inventory stood at 1.8 million units, or a six-months’ supply, which is approximately the same level as the country was experiencing in October 2008.

ISGN Corp. launched a new smart phone application for its Gators browser-based settlement services and vendor management system designed to assist appraisers, title abstractors and closing agents out in the field. The app soon will be available for the iPhone at the Apple Store where it can be downloaded. ISGN also plans to support apps for the Android phone, the Blackberry and other smartphone platforms.
