The Advantage Group, a privately owned title insurance agency, added Patrick Fogarty to its growing organization as senior vice president.

“Our excellent sales team has been significantly bolstered by the addition of Patrick Fogarty,” Advantage Group President Joseph Willen said. “The knowledge and experience he brings enhances our ability to provide unmatched service and expertise to our clients.”
Fogarty primarily will work with institutional investors, lenders, attorneys and developers on significant regional and multi-state transactions.
“I joined Joe Willen and the Advantage Group due to their stellar reputation for excellent service, the fact that they have six in-house counsels available to my clients and the top resources they have to handle their most complex transactions,” Fogarty said. “I am most impressed by their professionalism, teamwork and superior customer service. Advantage is uniquely positioned to continue to gain marketshare in this competitive marketplace and I am looking forward to contributing to their growth.”
Fogarty began his career as a credit-trained management associate at Marine Midland Bank, then as a real estate lender where he worked on complex commercial credits including loan originations, restructures, workouts and asset management. In 1994, he joined Donald Zucker Co., a prominent New York City real estate owner/developer/manager where he apprenticed as an asset manager, project manager and commercial leasing agent, working on hundreds of transactions through 1998. He then joined Rafferty Capital Markets, a Garden City, N.Y.-based Broker Dealer to manage the operations of a multi-state commercial, residential and industrial portfolio that he repositioned and successfully liquidated over time. In 2000, he established Fogarty Advisory Services, where he performed lending, property management, and development services for third parties and his own account.
In 2007, Fogarty joined First American Title Insurance Co. of New York as vice president of sales in the company’s national commercial services division, where he developed national client relationships for the company. He also served as liaison with numerous investors looking for opportunities in distressed debt. Since 2009, he has gained in-depth knowledge of the CMBS market, interacting directly with underwriters, servicers and borrowers.
Following his tenure at First American, in 2012 he helped to establish an independent title insurance agency, First Nationwide Title Agency LLC, serving as its sales manager and working with institutional investors, lenders, attorneys and developers.
Fogarty is the treasurer of the Real Estate Practitioner’s Institute of Long Island, an industry professional group affiliated with the College of Business at Stony Brook University. A 1985 graduate of St. John’s University with a BS in Communications Science, Fogarty was captain of the golf team, a three-time Big East Conference Tournament Champion and was nominated as Big East Conference Athlete of the Decade for golf (1989-1999). He resides in Stewart Manor, N.Y., with his wife and three children.
