AmeriNotary, a notary service provider startup that has developed a network of independent notary associates, announced a new platform to deliver assignments directly from title companies to notary loan signing agents. That platform made its debut March 15, 2016. The service will be provided at no cost to title companies or notary loan signing agents.
Assignments will be made available to notary loan signing agents via SSL/TLS encrypted email, and upon accepting the assignments, the notary will be handed off to the title company requesting notary services. The service incorporates SSL encryption. Because of recent security warnings estimating that 11.5 million web servers using HTTPS are vulnerable to DROWN attack, the use of a secure VPN tunnel is recommended as an added measure to protect the integrity of data.
In 2015, AmeriNotary launched a website designed to connect consumers and title companies with notaries public. Nearly 400 notaries have joined for free.
According to the announcement, AmeriNotary was launched in response to a downtrend of the fees paid to notary loan signing agents. The free technologies developed by AmeriNotary are designed to cut out middle man agencies who have been absorbing the fees paid to notaries.
