North American Title Insurance Co. (NATIC) has named Sara DePhillips its director of operations. She spent more than 20 years at one of the nation’s largest title insurance underwriters, with experience in creating centralized support services and agent-facing technology to offer title agents up-to-date, streamlined methods to work with their underwriters.
“Sara’s experience in both the process side of operations and the IT side makes her unique in the marketplace,” NATIC President Emilio Fernandez said in a release announcing the hire. “She understands that technology helps make process management as efficient as possible. It frees up people so they can focus on the personal relationship with their customers – rather than data entry, spreadsheet management and numerous other repetitive administrative matters.
DePhillips gained experience in management positions in both operational unit and project management roles. She began her career at a regional property and casualty insurance company in Atlanta and made the shift to title insurance in 1992, managing agency operations functions.
“With this unique experience and new role at NATIC, we look for Sara to help make NATIC significantly more efficient and streamlined and therefore, easier for agents to work with us,” Fernandez said.
Across her previous tenure in title insurance, DePhillips was promoted to vice president and project management positions in agency and IT operations.
“Working with such a large underwriter has given me a clear and focused knowledge of where title insurance is going and how technology is able to improve and streamline the agent experience,” she said.
DePhillips will be based out of NATIC’s headquarters in Miami.
